1. About VoiceQSO
VoiceQSO is a mobile application that provides AI-powered audio transcription and logging tools for amateur radio operators. The service enables users to record and transcribe QSO (contact) audio and maintain a structured contact log.
VoiceQSO is operated by Madsen Media (org. 932 215 659), Norway. References to "we", "us", or "VoiceQSO" refer to the operator.
2. Eligibility
You may use VoiceQSO if you:
- Are at least 16 years of age, or have parental consent if required by your local law
- Hold a valid amateur radio licence, or are using the app under the supervision of a licence holder
- Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy
3. Accounts
You must create an account to use VoiceQSO. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate registration information, including your amateur radio callsign. VoiceQSO reserves the right to suspend accounts where information is found to be false or misleading.
4. Beta and Early Access
During the beta period:
- Service availability is provided on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantees
- Features, subscription terms, and pricing may change before general release
- You will be notified of material changes before they take effect
Audio retention is described in the Privacy Policy (section 7) and is not tied to the beta phase: recordings are kept in your account for as long as your account is active so you can re-download them.
5. AI-Powered Processing
VoiceQSO uses artificial intelligence to transcribe your audio and extract structured QSO data. By uploading audio, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your audio is processed by AI systems, including third-party AI service providers
- Transcription output is generated automatically and may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing and correcting your log
- VoiceQSO does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any transcription output
- AI processing is described further in the Privacy Policy
6. Acceptable Use
6.1 Permitted Use
VoiceQSO is intended for personal amateur radio logging. You may use the service to record, transcribe, and manage your own QSO contacts.
6.2 Prohibited Use
You must not use VoiceQSO to:
- Upload audio you do not have the right to process
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
- Circumvent subscription limits or access controls
- Use the service for commercial resale without written agreement
- Violate applicable law, including radio regulations in your jurisdiction
7. Subscriptions and Credits
VoiceQSO offers tiered subscription plans (Free, Standard, Premium) and optional credit booster packs. Details of each plan, including transcription credit limits, are described in the app.
- Unused credits may roll over subject to plan limits, as described at the time of subscription
- Subscription credits are consumed before booster pack credits
- Credits have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash
- Pricing is subject to change with reasonable notice ahead of any renewal
Subscription and one-time payment billing is handled by Stripe, Inc. as our payment processor. When purchasing through the Android app, payments may also be processed via Google Play's billing integration. By making a purchase, you agree to the applicable terms of the payment processor.
Refund requests for app store purchases are subject to the relevant platform's refund policy. For direct Stripe payments, contact us at billing@voiceqso.com within 14 days of the transaction.
8. Intellectual Property
VoiceQSO and its underlying technology, branding, and content are owned by or licensed to the operator. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the service or its components to you.
You retain ownership of the audio you upload and the QSO data in your logbook. By uploading audio, you grant VoiceQSO a limited licence to process it for the purposes described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
VoiceQSO is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that transcriptions will be accurate, or that data will not be lost. You are responsible for maintaining your own backup of important log data.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VoiceQSO and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of QSO records, or inaccurate transcription output.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of VoiceQSO shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time via the app settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, or if we discontinue the service with reasonable notice.
On account closure, your personal data will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Exported log data is your responsibility to retain before closing your account.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before the new terms take effect. Continued use of VoiceQSO after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Norwegian courts, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country requires otherwise.
